A first Singapore day

From the first station to the final station; travel to and from your hotel is excluded.

Start in Chinatown, reach the Merlion, then follow the bay to Marina Bay Sands and the Supertrees.

This route connects Chinatown streets, Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands waterfront, Gardens by the Bay outdoor gardens.

Chinatown streets

Explore Pagoda Street, Temple Street and surrounding shophouses; meals are budgeted separately.

Station code: NE4

Along Pagoda Street and Temple Street, look above the shops at upper floors, sheltered walkways and signs. Exploring one short stretch carefully can reveal more than checking off every storefront.

A neighbourhood walk does not guarantee access to religious buildings. Respect ceremonies and restrictions, ask before photographing people, and budget meal queues and breaks separately.

Suggested visit allowance: 90–110 minutes

Merlion Park

Photograph the Merlion and Marina Bay skyline, then stroll around the Fullerton waterfront.

Station code: NS26

Look beyond the Merlion to the bay and surrounding city. Take in the wider view before finding a photo angle that leaves the walkway clear; a brief visit can still be rewarding.

Popular waterfront photo spots may require waiting. If the skyline is your main interest, keep moving along the public walkway rather than queueing for one particular position.

Suggested visit allowance: 35–45 minutes

Marina Bay Sands waterfront

Explore the Event Plaza and bayfront architecture; SkyPark admission is not included.

Station code: DT16

Use the Event Plaza and bay walk to take in the scale of the buildings. A gentle stroll works better than chasing one photo angle and gives space to reflect on earlier stops.

Paid attractions such as the SkyPark are not part of this promenade walk. Check tickets and slots before adding an elevated viewpoint and allow extra time for access inside the building.

Suggested visit allowance: 50–65 minutes

Gardens by the Bay outdoor gardens

Explore lakeside paths and the Supertrees; this stop excludes paid aerial walks and conservatories.

Station code: DT16

Slow down here: start with a lakeside stretch and use the Supertrees as your walking destination, noticing how planting and built structures shape the garden.

An outdoor walk and a paid attraction visit need different budgets. This route allows for the ground-level gardens; add time and check tickets separately for an aerial walk.
