Bitan riverside and Gongguan campus day

From the first station to the final station; travel to and from your hotel is excluded.

Walk Bitan in the morning, then take the MRT to Gongguan and NTU after lunch; water activities are separate.

This route connects Bitan Scenic Area, Gongguan Shopping Area, National Taiwan University Campus.

Bitan Scenic Area

Station code: G01

Walk from Xindian station toward the river and first take in the suspension bridge and slopes on either bank. Choose a manageable section of promenade and watch the relationship between water activities and everyday riverside life. A seated pause can be as rewarding as crossing the bridge immediately upon arrival.

The plan covers the riverside and accessible bridge paths, not pedal boats, kayaking or other activities on the water. Follow any weather or maintenance restrictions rather than assuming every path is open. Keep the short walk back to Xindian station and a proper lunch break before continuing toward Gongguan.

Suggested visit allowance: 75–100 minutes

Gongguan Shopping Area

Station code: G07

Explore a small section of the streets beside Roosevelt Road, where student life supports bookshops, food counters and everyday shopping. Comparing this busy commercial texture with the shaded university avenues nearby gives the outing a clear contrast. Pick a few places of interest rather than attempting to exhaust the whole district.

Gongguan station serves both the shopping area and NTU, but use designated crossings on Roosevelt Road. Shops and campus spaces have different access conditions, and meals need their own allowance. The continuation to Shida involves a longer walk; ending at Gongguan is a sensible option if the earlier stops have used your energy.

Suggested visit allowance: 35–50 minutes

National Taiwan University Campus

Station code: G07

Focus on open paths near the main gate and Royal Palm Boulevard, noticing the relationship between trees, low-rise buildings and long sightlines. After Gongguan’s commercial streets, the campus offers a different rhythm. It remains a place of study and work, so an observant public-path walk is more appropriate than wandering into classrooms.

Buildings, museums and events have their own entry rules, and the campus should not be treated as an unrestricted public park. Check university notices and stay out of controlled areas. This itinerary uses accessible outdoor paths only; if visitor access is restricted, spend the remaining time in Gongguan rather than cutting through buildings.
