Tamsui Old Street and Fisherman’s Wharf day
From the first station to the final station; travel to and from your hotel is excluded.
Explore the old street and river, then use Red 26 for the wharf; no ferry timetable is assumed.
This route connects Tamsui Old Street and riverside, Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf.
Tamsui Old Street and riverside
Explore the old street and riverside near the station. Fort San Domingo and ferry rides are outside this riverside stop; Fisherman’s Wharf is the next, separate stop, reached by Red 26 bus.
Station code: R28
Walk a stretch of riverside near the station before turning into the old street for shops or snacks. Alternate between water views, the hills across the river and the street itself. These changing perspectives make a relaxed afternoon without continually extending the walk farther away.
This riverside stop does not include Fort San Domingo or ferry rides. Fisherman’s Wharf follows as a separate stop reached by Red 26 bus. Sunset conditions are not guaranteed. Further attractions require extra transport and time, with shorter visits at existing stops. Eating and queues are budgeted separately. After the bus returns from the wharf, the final rail journey starts at Tamsui station.
Suggested visit allowance: 70–95 minutes

Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf
Station code: R28
Compare the harbour basin, breakwater and Lover’s Bridge as different ways of framing the water. This is a more open and wind-exposed setting than the riverside beside Tamsui Old Street. Choose a comfortable section of promenade and enjoy the changing light without expecting a perfect sunset or walking every edge of the harbour.
The wharf is beyond walking-distance sightseeing around Tamsui station. This plan uses the Red 26 bus with a separate allowance for waiting and travel in both directions. Ferries or Danhai light rail are alternatives requiring their own connections; ferry timetables and weather are not assumed in this bus-based estimate.
Suggested visit allowance: 60–90 minutes
